As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." It is a thought that should correspond with the youth of today. They should live life to the fullest and treat everyday as if it were the last. The theme of youth is fleeting is expressed in various works of literature that is aimed at the youth to experience what life has in store for them.
             It is a widely accepted fact that time is constant and it will move on with or without you. To begin, the youth of today take for granted that they have all the time in the world. However, only the contrary is true. Time is an aspect of life that moves on and takes with it the early stages of life. As if to emphasis this fact, Andrew Marvell quotes in To His Coy Mistress, "But at my back I always hear Time's winged chariot hurrying near." What the youth today presume is that they will live forever. They don't realize the fact that they are just minor beings that can be destroyed within matter of seconds. Marvell also illustrates that all humans will eventually turn into "dust" and "ashes." Moreover, as the youth age they are physically unable to carry out their desires. Therefore, the youth population should attempt to make the best of their lives in their juvenile state before time takes charge and annihilates them.
             There are various other reasons for youngsters to live before youth slips away. First, all humans are living creatures and they age just like all others. Eventually, beauty and other youthful signs pass away. As in Elvis Presley's Its Now or Never, "tomorrow will be too late, it's now or never [,] my love won't wait." The aging youth will not be able to have lasting periods of love or be loved in the same way as in earlier periods. Moreover, as human beings age, love and attraction will not last.
