Southern University at New Orleans came to me highly recommended.
My plan's are to major in Criminal Justice. A friend of mine who graduated
from the university told me that they offer a great Criminal Justice Program.
I looked at many colleges in the area but Southern offered the best curriculum.
My school of choice was actually University of New Orleans, but they did not
offer any programs in my designated major. University of New Orleans appealed
more to me because of the variety of nationality's that they had. I applied to
University of New Orleans and spent a lot of time trying to see if I could major in
another program. By the time I had received word back from UNO that I was
accepted, I still couldn't find a program that interested me. I then decided that
Southern University would be the best decision for my future. At Southern I
would be able to take every class that I need to fulfill my requirement for my
major. I was still a little hesitant about Southern due to a lot of rumors that I had
heard concerning the academic way of life. The perception that others gave me
was that SUNO is an easy A school, a get you through school. I didn't want to
attend a school that would just pass me through as long as I did the bare
minimum. I want to be able to come to school and be challenged and learn
in the process. My goals are to graduate as fast as I can. I plan on taking on
max loads as well as taking summer classes to achieve my goal.
