taking diet pills to lose weight because she believed she had been picked to appear s a guest on her favorite infomercial. As time passed, she took more and more of the prescribed pills and started to lose all grip on reality. She was admitted to a mental institution and was not responding to any of the treatments the administration had performed on her in their attempts to help her regain her strength. She refuses to eat and consequently, the staff opts to force to tube down her throat in order to feed her. She is reduced to a mumbling and shaking lifeless form. After the hospital had exhausted all possible treatments to her recovery, they ask her to sign a waiver permitting them to employ various and alternate methods, including electro-shock therapy. After undergoing the painful treatment, she emerges from her room to greet her friends who have come to visit her. The women are traumatized to see their old friend staggering out, all the life drained from her eyes, never to recover.
             These last final shots are especially effective and powerful because the four parallel plot lines are intertwined and quickly move from one to the other. The film ends with the last shots portraying the four characters in parallel shots and position.
