Odysseus and the pioneers differ yet again in the composition of each group. Odysseus brought strong, able-bodied men (Homer 818), while the pioneers brought a variety of people (Holmes). Yet again, however, the two are like. Odysseus and the pioneers brought the types of people suited for their specific trials; Odysseus needed to bring strong warriors, while the pioneers needed to bring doctors, lawyers, masons, etc.
