or new ideas. Sometimes, because of the organization within a team or the status of a team members position can result in other team member's feeling intimidated. Because of this, it should be a key goal to try to keep each member's status at an equal standing within a team setting. Loss of opportunity can happen when not all team members are given a chance to express their views about a given subject within the team. Also loss of opportunity can happen when a team member feels that the work load is uneven.
             As a member of a team one is expected to do part of the teams work. There are several ways that work can be distributed. The team lead can choose to assign work to individuals, the members can volunteer for tasks, or it can be done at random. Any way that the work is divided, it needs to be done as evenly as possible. There are a lot of aspects to pay attention to when work is assigned. Each teammate has individual strengths and weaknesses. Often times a team is comprised of people from different backgrounds to allow for the expertise of their knowledge. In this case it would not make sense to assign technical work to a non-technical person. Also, people work at different speeds. One would not want to assign a large project with a short timeline to someone that can not realistically complete it. This would just set the team up for failure.
             Unfortunately, in all team environments there is the concern of uneven distribution of work. Often times there are one or two people that seem to not 'pull their weight.'
