to lie in bed with the wolf. After her astonishment of the wolf's body and attire, it seems that she is still unaware that the creature she is laying naked next to is a wolf and not her grandmother. Red is immediately gobbled up by the wolf as if she was totally defenseless and gullible. Lisel, on the other hand, is more aware of her sexual affairs and has more interest in them. In the beginning paragraph of Lee's short story Lisel is explained as being a "vivid blonde in the flame-bright ballrooms, breaking hearts and not minding." (295) both are sexual in nature, but Lisel is intentionally so. In Perrault's story, neither Red nor her grandmother escapes the wolf's treachery. Lisel and her grandmother are consumed by wolves as well. However, there wasn't a single wolf with sexual intentions. They were, in fact, consumed by the identity of wolves.
             Throughout the beginning of Lee's short story "Wolfland," Lisel had tendencies towards wolf-like behavior that was later pointed out by her grandmother, Anna. The grandmother was revealed to be a werewolf, and eventually makes Lisel one as well. "Wolfland" employs the image of the lycanthropic flower, according it more importance, in fact, as the eating of the lycanthropic flower was the means of becoming a werewolf. T
