Mans change in perception of himself during the Renaissance
             Mans perception of himself changed during the Renaissance due to the influence of humanism. Explorers discovered new lands, there was a change in artistic values, scientific discoveries were extremely important and the reformation of the church caused great occurrences.
             Exploration not only discovered new countries and continents but along with new lands they discovered new cultures. Explorers such as Columbus, Magellan and Marco Polo found new lands and discovered new cultures, which influenced the growth of humanism due to the countries that had been found having no church and being able to think what they want. Christopher Columbus, probably one of today's most recognized explorers, On his first voyage he was granted three ships the Pinta, the Santa Maria and the Nina with these ships he discovered many new places such as the Bahamas and the New World known today as the Americas North and South. Although Exploration was a dangerous occupation the men/women who's occupation was exploration the foundation of new land was a great circumstance and benefited them and the Renaissance greatly.
             There was a major change in artistic values during period of the Renaissance, the Renaissance changed the views and thoughts of artists and benefited other occupations besides their own. During the middle ages artistic work was mainly religious and was painted on church ceilings and or altarpieces, this all changed though, throughout the Renaissance artists thought differently due to the breakaway from the church, artistic work had new meaning to it and the artists started to draw and paint with a more realistic pint of view in mind not only this, the discovery of perspective drawing which was The technique of representing three-dimensional objects and depth relationships on a two-dimensional surface. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=perspective.
