Writer director, Stanley Kubric has generated a movie full of satirical humour. A series of events in "Dr Strangelove" end in nucular warfare, caused by one man's paranoia and sexual impotence. Despite this, Kubric successfully demonstrates a serious topic in a funny manner.
             The movie "Dr Strangelove" contains a strong theme of sex and war. In all the reality of nucular warfare it is natural for us to take such an issue like this seriously. However, Kubric has managed to take this issue and turn it into a humorous film; using the theme sex and war.
             He has done this to suggest that our leaders in authority cant necessarily be trusted. He hopes we would transfer this to real life, so that we question our world leaders and weather we should take them seriously. An example of this would be when General Buck Turgidson gets the phone call from his secretary in the war room. A clear reflection like this shows how these superior men of great responsibilities deal with situations where the lives of billions of people are in the hands of our so called
             'Leaders'. Another example of the misleading leaders would be when Buck Turgidson tackles the Russian Ambassador.
             He also suggests because men are driven by sex and have some attitude towards women ' like the way General Jack Ripper did. Sex is linked to war through the need to gain power and control. Ripper comments "Fluoridation came as a foreign substance into the country, it took away our bodily fluids". The conspiracy theory led Ripper to believe that the poisoning of the water resulted in his impotence; because of this sexual inadequacy that he had, he seeks revenge on the Ruski's (the Russians) to gain power and control. So he starts war.
