Treaty of Versailles

We are doing an interesting essay on our views on The Treaty of Versailles. We will be looking at sources, people' s opinions and what the Internet and books can give us. The question we have to answer is this, 'Was the Treaty of Versailles fair?'
The Treaty of Versailles was a peace settlement signed after WW1 had ended in 1918. Most of it was decided by 'The Big Three' Woodrow Wilson, David Lloyd George and Georges Clemenceau. The Treaty of Versailles was signed in the Hall of Mirrors, which is in Versailles, Paris.
It could be said that the Treaty of Versailles was a fair settlement, because of Germany destroying a lot of Frances army, 1,400,000 soldiers to be precise. Clemenceau was the French president and wanted Germany to be severely punished, and thought that the treaty was far too lenient on Germany.
Britain and the USA tried to be even handed about everything, but it was an extremely hard thing to do. Many believed that it was Germany's fault that the terrible war had started. Lloyd George knew that if they totally destroyed Germany then that would be very bad for the British industry. But he knew that they'd have to punish Germany.
Woodrow Wilson wasn't all that happy about the Treaty, because he wanted world peace above everything else. He thought that it was far too harsh on Germany, and he only got 4 of his 14 points into the Treaty. His 14 points were:
             1. No more secret agreements ("Open covenants openly arrived at").
             3. An end to all economic barriers between countries.
             4. Countries to reduce weapon numbers.
             5. All decisions regarding the colonies should be impartial
             6. The German Army is to be removed from Russia. Russia should be left to develop
             7. Belgium should be independent like before the war.
             8. France should be fully liberated and allowed to recover Alsace-Lor
