The public thinks he is a nice looking, young man that is very charismatic and came from a working middle class family. The real truth is that he coaxed millions of dollars out of unsuspecting juries. John Edwards's specialty was suing OB-GYNs for cerebral palsy to the tune of 50 to 70 million. He played to the emotions of heart-broken parents, and sympathetic juries, and manipulated junk science. Cerebral palsy is not caused by the doctor. The rate of cerebral palsy is the same for babies being delivered by C-section, or natural birth.
             John Edwards's actions caused innocent OB-GYNs out of business. Because of these actions, insurance rates sky-rocketed, and many areas were left without OB-GYNs. People have to drive miles to have their babies delivered. Infant and mother mortality has increased. Edwards's and his fellow lawyers have turned obstetricians into villains.
             Edwards's represents what is wrong with American society today. We have parasitic trial lawyers raping the system, controlling the judicial, and the legislative branches of the government. Society can not stop them. The current legal system is driving manufacturing jobs out of this country, raising the cost of health care, and destroying many small businesses.
             But, why has John Kerry picked him as his running mate? Edwards has not held any office prior to becoming a one-term senator. He has not sponsored any significant legislation, and consistently voted for a liberal agenda. John Edwards has the largest lobby in North America behind him, the trial lawyers. They can infuse large amounts of money into Kerry's campaign.
             In this election, do we want a Vice President that is an immoral, ruthless, trial lawyer that has hurt society?
