             Have you ever dreamed of living in two countries? About 10 years ago, my family and I lived in Vietnam. Life was hard but simple. When war broke out and circumstances in my life changed, I found myself move to the United States with my family. Later on, I discovered many different things where Vietnam could not compete with the U.S., but on the other hand, American people did not seem friendly enough like the Vietnamese people. This made me realize more clearly how different life could be living in two worlds, and how lucky I was, to have that opportunity.
             Vietnam is a poor country; thus, it has bad living conditions that I cannot ever forget. However, in Vietnam, our neighborhoods are really friendly. It was a custom for Vietnamese neighbors to help and take care of each other like a member of a larger social family. This is a good example of showing love when we are in the same poverty situation. In addition, a school of my hometown in Vietnam did not have many teachers, so they charged a lot of money for each student to be educated. My family did not have enough money to pay for my full education; therefore, I didn't go to school after I finished the 5th grade. Luckily, when my family and I came to the U.S., we experienced better living conditions. Later on, I could continue my high school education with government assisted funding.
             In contrast, the U.S. is a rich country, but the social living atmosphere often makes me feel lonely. For instance, the neighborhoods around my house do not seem very friendly because we do not have a chance to socialize with them as much as the Vietnamese neighbors usually do. In addition, due to the language and culture differences, we do not communicate very well with our neighbors.
