It all started in the year 1780. A man called Jacob Schweppe's invented the semi-continuous "Geneva System." This system consisted of a carbon dioxide generator, a gasometer, and a pump that forced the carbon gas into a carbonating chamber, where it mixed with liquid. When the liquid was thoroughly carbonated, it was drawn off, and the operation was repeated again and again. This was the first step in baking soda.
             In 1886 John Pemberton invented the legendary soft drink. He had a project in his backyard, he was tried to find a cure to heal a headache. Instead of a cure he invented a treacle, and with a combination of this treacle and sparkling water, he made the famous Coca-Cola. The exact recipe was the treacle, carbonate acid, and water. John Pemberton's bookkeeper was the one who made the logo and the name Coca-Cola. The bookkeeper's name was Frank Robinson.
             In 1893 the soft drink was registered and served at soda-bars to the price of 5 cents a glass. In the early years of the soft drinks life, John Pemberton sold the rights to the businessman Ase G. Chandler. John Pemberton died in 1988, and he is buried in Columbus, Georgia.
             Ase G. Chandler had a dream for the soft drink, he wanted the American's to love Coca-Cola, he wanted them to see the soda as a product they could not live without. Therefor he approached the American's with lots of samples and had shops to promote the product. The strategy was a success, and in 1895 the product was sold all over in the United States. But at this point people had to go to a soda-bar to taste this soft drink.
             But in 1899 the three men took the opportunity to sell "take away" cokes. These men where the only one, who had the right to sell this new product. The new product was a bottled Coca-Cola. In the early nineteen's there were a lot of copying, and people were especially copying Coca-Cola, so the company had to make a clear strategy.
