Antigone

Creon being king only made him more obnoxious. He thought that being a good ruler was showing his city that he wasn't weak. That he wasn't going to let a women defy him no matter what her reasons were. He didn't care about justice, he wanted to punish Polyneices for going against the city of Thebes. Then he wanted to punish Antigone for going against him.
When Creon found out that he was wrong. That the decisions he made as a ruler and as a person it was too late. Creon says, "You really mean it- that I must yield?" After he said this, he went to free Antigone. He was going drop everything and not punish her. He realized that she had her reasons and that they had nothing to do with him. But when he tried to make things right, he was too late. Antigone hanged herself and Haemon killed himself because of Antigone. Soon after Eurydice found out about her son and she killed herself also. Creon was left with no one, because of his selfish need to be a strong leader he lost his son, neice, and wife. When Oedipus found out that he was the killer of his father, Laius and his mother was his wife he didn't try to justify what he did. He simply removed himself from everyone that he loved. He asked Creon to take care of his children and even though he didn't kill himself he punished himself badly.
Oedipus was a good leader, he just couldn't escape his destiny. When he realized what he had done it was not too late. He left with out a problem and his people still thought he was a good leader. But in Creon's situation everyone kept questioning is reasons and if they were fair or not and he just wouldn't listen. Then when he finally did, it was too late and he was alone. His son and his wife had killed themselves, not because of him but for reasons that had to do with him. Antigone killer herself because of Creon, Haemon killed himself because of Antigone and Eurydice killed herself because of Haemon.
