             The mission statement for Faith Community Hospital is as follows, "With the foundation and commitment of our spiritual heritage and values, our mission is to promote the health and well-being of the people in the communities we serve through a comprehensive continuum of services provided in collaboration with the partners who share the same vision and values." The mission statement is lacking goals, most of the goals of the CEO and Board of Directors of Faith Community. As Pat mentioned in the meeting, the mission statement is not meeting the standards of the stakeholders and staff members. Adding essential values and goals to the mission statement is important not only for the staff members and stakeholders but for the patients being treated at Faith. Finding a solution to the problem of health care givers loosing power is an important factor to the case study. The cost of hospital supplies, employment, etc. are on the rise and the patient to cost ratio is decreasing. All this means is that the hospital needs to make up for costs somewhere and not having the cost/patient ratio even, could mean cost-reduction somewhere in Faith Community Hospital.
             The two questions that were asked by the CEO of Faith Community were "Are we running a less efficient operation? Can we reduce cost without impacting quality?" What is happening now is Faith Community Hospital is providing patient first care. The problem being that some of Faith's patients do not have insurance coverage and with rising fixed costs the hospital will have no choice but to turn down people with no insurance coverage. Being that Faith is a spiritual, religious hospital, saying no to a patient in need is not an option. Some patients refuse certain medical services and some staff members refuse to provide certain services. The main problem in this case study is the rising cost of health care and the decrease in hospital funding for healthcare....
