             In 1861 the United States of America engaged in its country's deadliest war to date, the Civil War. Between the years of 1861 and 1865 the north and south were divided in a bloody war. Over the course of the war more than 620,000 lives were lost totaling 1,100,000 casualties (The American Civil War). Given these startling numbers, how can a group of Union soldiers enjoy their tour while losing countless friends and compatriots?
