             The author is expressing in this quote that everybody needs somebody or something in this world to help guide them to their greatness whether it might be man or God.
             My philosophy of education is based on this impact statement because I belive that we all need each other in this puluralist society to cultivate what is lying within us. The best is what Gods plan is for our lives. This quote exdemplifes my life. Through all the adversities, God placed caring people in my path that brought out a little piece of me at a time. Each piece that was brought out was part of that whole. When I thought no one was there to help bring out the best in me God was there and he made sure it came forth.
             I am reminded of the old African proveb "It takes a village to Raise a Child." Many people don't believe that today. I think they feel that they only need the schools to help bring out the best in their child. In my smal town, my parents relied on the neighbors in the community, the school and the church to help bring out the best in me and my siblings. We were taught many things that we couldn;t get from a classroom. Parents represent only one of the many factors that influence a child's development. A child needs everyone in the community to help bring out their best.
             As an educator, I am there for my students. I am their cheerleader, coach and guidance counselor. I am there to motivate, encourage and most of the time push the best out of them. I push when they don't want to be pushed. I see what they can not see. In my students, I see a diamond in the ruff. I see their potential. The support of family, friends church, school and community helped in guiding me to my greatness. I am inspired to give back to my communit ans an educator to help bring out the greatness of others. In doing this, this brings out more of me.
