Is man inherently evil?

             Throughout the course of human history, several catastrophic events have taken place that rock our civilization to its core. I'm talking about events such as September 11th and the Holocaust. These horrendous crimes against humanity could not have happened if it weren't for one thing: Man is inherently evil.
             On the morning of September 11th, 2001, I awoke to find out that a plane had crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers in New York. What was happening? Was it an accident? How could this be? Then the second plane hit. All speculation had disappeared; America was under attack. Weeks later we are informed that a man by the name of Osama Bun Laden planned and initiated these attacks. Osama Bin Laden is a man who believes that all non-Muslims are infidels and must be killed. This man is a window for us to see the true evil locked inside each and every one of us. We have all been trained to suppress this evil; to do the right thing. From birth we are taught not to hit other people and to say please and thank you, but when you do not quarantine this evil, it simply feeds and grows. A man like Osama Bin Laden could not exist if there was no seed of evil at the heart of mankind.
             Perhaps the greatest and most horrific display of the inherent wickedness of man is the Holocaust and the "ethnic cleansing" that went on in Russia during World War II. Men like Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler are prime examples of when humanity goes wrong. Between Hitler and Stalin, the number of innocent people put to death in Germany and Russia during World War II numbered in the tens of millions. Hitler's Holocaust was more infamous due to the specific targeting of Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally handicapped, and any other person who did not signify Aryan.
