             Beliefs: A question common to the faith is are the Jewish people a race? In a certain light yes, mainly because the definition for race is a division of the population by beliefs, genes, and/or physical characteristics. And yet, the people of the faith get quite offended if they hear you say that. In fact most Jews would say that you were anti-Semite.
             Another hard question is what do Jews believe? This is hard because there is no set of rules, laws, and regulations that every Jewish citizen must follow. They think it is far more important to act than to believe. Only one man has ever come close to setting a list of rules, Rambam. Rambam wrote out the 13 principles of faith. Most of these principles were very basic, such as God Exists and God will reward the good and punish the evil.
             Many other religions believe in the Cosmological concepts. Judaism does not. Although they have, in depth, thought about the nature of God, man, life, and the afterlife. But, there is still no certain or official belief on this topic. Most of the room on these subjects is taken by opinion. They do believe in relationships though. In fact many Jews the relationships between God and mankind, God and the Jewish nation, and between humans. Most of these relationships have obligations that are stated in the scripture of The Book. The Orthodox Jews believe that these laws are unchanging and absolute. The conservatives say that laws evolve over time like humans have. And the Reforms or Reconstructionists believe that they are just guidelines that one can choose whether to follow or not.
             These actions that Judaism is concerned with are the 613 Commandments, laws instituted by Rabbis, and customs that seem to always have existed.
