On the 26th of December 2004, the world was astonished with one most unimaginable disaster, Tsunami. The Tsunami (Tidal wave) was caused by the earthquake that hit the Andaman Sea in Sumatra. The earthquake was scaled 8.9 on the Richter scale. The tidal wave which was moving as fast as 400 miles per hour and it was several stories high traveled thousands of miles including to Malaysia. Many people were killed and missing whereby billions of dollars in loss occurred due to this horrible catastrophe.
As it was holidays and furthermore just after Christmas, many brought their loved ones and friends to the beaches for vacation and picnic. Everyone was having fun, chit chatting, playing games on the beach and some were even swimming when out of blue the killer wave came and swept every one of them. It did not just stop there, instead, it traveled out to the land and swallowed everything it its way. Acheh, the worst affected country by Tsunami, where almost 200 thousand people were killed and thousands more missing was almost wiped off from the world map as the tidal wave destroyed everything on that country.
There was one incident that I watched that really caught my emotion. This was a live footage taken by a local in Indonesia just few minutes before the Tsunami cropped up. The man was video shooting his family by the beach. It was seen that his children were having extreme fun by playing by the beach and one was also swimming. Abruptly, the massive killer wave came and chased every one of them up to their hotel. The small kid that was swimming was running as fast as he could and almost succeed in saving his life when the second tsunami came and washed him away. His father was shouting for help and tried to search for his missing son whereby the other children were grasping strongly by the fence.
