             Human beings want the power to control what happens in their life and the pace of change, which with globalization is becoming inevitably impossible. Our society fears globalization because of this lack of control and vulnerability they are then placed into. Another fear is that we are becoming too connected to the point where privacy may soon be unattainable. Where personal information is easily transferred throughout networks and may soon be almost impossible to keep confidential. Friedman agrees, "What the Internet does is super-empower individuals, Web sites, corporations and hotels- so they can amass huge amounts of information outside of any governments supervision.
