Hamlet Essay

Topic: #6 (on how Hamlet waited too long)
The question on Topic number six was "How do you see Hamlet on handling time with avenging his father?" In my own opinion, I believe that Hamlet took way too much time thinking about what was right to do and what was wrong to do. I also believe he thought too much on what to do to avenge his father that he missed several good opportunities. I believe that because of him waiting too long was the cause of his death because had he done things sooner, he might have lived in the end.
One of the things I noticed in "Hamlet" was on page six. A part of what Hamlet said was " If it assume my noble father's person, I'll speak to it, though hell itself should gape And bid me hold my peace...."
This statement of his tells me that he is unsure that this sprit is even his father's sprit or that the sprit is even telling the truth to him. If I were in Hamlet's place, I would just go along wit the ghost and do what it said because I would be afraid of what it could do to me. Unfortunally, Hamlet procrastinates and can't make up his mind, there fore dragging out the pain and confusion in his life and just causing more problems later on.
Another such quote of Hamlet is on page pg 49-50 in Act 2, Scene 2. Hamlet says" ".....But in a fiction, in a dream of passion, Could force his soul so to his own conceit That from her working all his visage wan'd; Tears in his eyes, distraction in's aspect, A broken voice, and his whole function suiting With forms to his conceit? And all for nothing!....What would he do, Had he the motive and the cue for passion That I have? He would drown the stage with tears And cleave the general ear with horrid speech; Make mad the guilty, and appal the free; Confound the ignorant, and amaze, indeed, The very faculties of eyes and ears. ....And can say nothing; no, not for a king Upon whose property and ...
