Allison Polishing and Machining Inc., like many small businesses began in nothing more than a two-car garage. Approximately 24 years ago Tony Allison began his adventure as a small business owner in his hometown, Xenia, Ohio. Mr. Allison was approached in 1980 due to an increased need for a aluminum polisher. After accepting the offer he was left with a single tractor wheel. Later that week Mr. Allison returned his work and the customer was very pleased. In a matter of days the customer returned to Allison's garage with more than 200 tractor wheels for him to polish. As the word spread across town and the surrounding area business began to grow at a rather fast pace. Before much time had passed Allison Polishing Inc. had developed.
             With more and more offers coming in Mr. Allison felt the pressure to move out of his home and into a larger facility. At that time the owner moved A.P.I. to a building in which he paid rent on a monthly basis. Following four years of occupancy a building opened in which Mr. Allison could have space connected to an office for his secretary and paperwork. A.P.I's new address was in suite E of the Xenia Industrial Park. According to the books moving was one of the most influential decisions the owner made. Profit in the first three months increased approximately 40%. The increase was due to a contract signed between A.P.I. and A.F. Leis, an orthopedic replacement specialist. Mr. Allison was forced to hire 9 full time employees that would help him polish equipment such as hip, knee and, ankle replacements for the orthopedic office.
             After some careful research Mr. Allison realized the one thing his business was lacking was advertisement. He was unable to attract new customers because of his location.
