In my lifetime, I have always heard of and celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr's day. Never before had I really taken the time to realize the true meaning of it and the impact it has on a variety of different people. Many feelings and cultural beleifs take place on this holiday. I came to this presentation to expand my knowledge on this cultural event.
             The introduction of this M.L.K. presentation started with two singers dressed in African-American clothing. the opening hymm was touching and inspiring. The song was a duet by a male and a female who produced a high and low sounding effect, which gave a stunning appeal to the ceremony to come. The whole room rose as they performed a powerful opening song, which was in the program.
             Then two dancers dressed in white dresses from Graceful Praise of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base gave an inspirational performance. The speaker, Dr. Dwight Cannon, read from the phamphlet, which gave an introduction for Emmanuel Ohonme. Emmanuel was the creator of a non-profit organization called "Samaratins Feet". He has been through many struggles, and no matter how hard his struggles may have been, he has accomplished a lot. He grew from a young child to an adult with one special goal, from one special moment, and this all-occuring from one pair of shoes given to him as a child when he had none. This later led him to start "Samaritan's Feet" an organization to give children shoes that are not fortunate enough to own their own.
             Emmanuel Ohonme received a basketball scholarship from North Dakota. I thought this was incredible, to hear about aman who went through so much, with so little to live on;to grow strong willed enough under conditions unheard of; to come to all the way of the slums of Africa to become the vice president of large companies and be the profit releif organization, he has also worked for many large product software distributing comapnies in cities such as Charlotte and New York...
