As a child, Marturo grew up being accustomed to being different before he grew other observations which are much more associated with being a child and learning. He had recognized his culture had made him different, that there is always a prejudgment that comes along with his outside appearance. Marturo believes that due to a certain culture signification that it can have some extreme effects. Some of society may be detrimental in a way it doesn't get a look because there is no connection by just knowing the background of the authors piece. Also, sometimes if read it may receive a reaction in which an audience may be taken back and overwhelmed that some one of a different ethnic group was the creator.
Marturo believes that although America has came along way, with providing a safe haven for immigrants who may have faced oppression or may have not been tolerated for personal reasons in their respective country. Marturo shows his appreciation for that but believe since we have came this far, there is another issue which in time gradually may become a significant problem in todays world. Marturo believes that if we include diversity into todays programs across the country in all types of assets in life.
