One of the most memorable years I have experienced was sixth grade. For during that year, I had the privilege of coming to meet the most dynamic individual who has been my closest companion throughout my teen years. The typical scorching weather on that summer day just added to my nervousness: as it was my first day attending Middle School. Having found my way to the first period class listed on my schedule, I entered the room of my science teacher Mrs. Bryant. We were not permitted to seat ourselves, but instead stand along the wall until she told us where our arranged seats were. I was placed next to a very beautiful young girl whom I soon discovered was Lindsey R. For the first few minutes of that class period, Mrs. Bryant introduced herself, and then instructed each of us to address the class, and introduce ourselves as well. I have never had an introverted personality, and standing in front of others has never been a challenge for me. However, I soon found out that Lindsey was quite the opposite of myself.
With her cheeks turning crimson red, and her eyes lighting up like fireflies, she stuttered as she said, "My ... name is ... Lindsey R, and ... I ... came from ... Faller Elementary ... and I am 12 years old." She quickly took her seat right next to me, and slumped in her chair as if to escape the eyes of our classmates that were burning in her direction. I nudged her lightly and smiled in hopes to lighten her embarrassment. She half-smiled in return, and turning back to face forward, she fixed her eyes on something in the front of the classroom. After what seemed to be only minutes, the bell rang to set out to our next class. I walked out right behind Lindsey, and without hesitation I said, "Hey, what's your next class Lindsey?"
