The Old Testament, no matter what religion, is the same. The Hebrew Bible, among the others, contains texts of violence, and especially the abuse of women, and talks that most people would conclude to be pornographic, and quite horrific. The main discussion of the twenty first century would be the fight over weather to leave these texts in the bible and if so, at least not read them in a communal setting.
             The only way to debate this issue in a humane way is in a paper, anywhere else and you'll be sure to have a rather large squabble. My belief on this subject, although never really reading any part of the bible till now, and quite interested at this age, is to leave the Bible as is. This is how it was intended to be, to teach the law and among other things, lessons in life.
             The biggest argument that you would have is, weather to talk about these things in church or whatever place of worship you might attend. I believe that in the twenty first century, people are turning into babies, scared of what is actually really out there. In Judges 19, there is drinking, sexual statements, and abuse of women in the form of rape and killing the woman. Parents today protect their children way to much, they believe any bad thing they hear is going to corrupt their children. This passage in Judges 19, gives that shock effect it was meant to have and lets people know the laws of the land then, and lets face it...it still happens today. If you think kids do not drink, they do, if you think they do not have intercourse, they do, and its just a fact that grownups, although they have done all of this already try to forget and think that its bad, but its really letting the children learn about what is out there. In a way, History repeats itself over and over again. I believe otherwise, if you teach your children to think for themselves and to know what's right and wrong, this should not be a problem.
