             The Senate is almost the same as the House with some slight differences. The Senate has 100 members and is run by the Vice President. When the Vice President is absent, the President Pro-tempore, selected by the majority party, runs the show. All this was mentioned before, but the President Pro-tempore is really an honorary role.
