Obesity has been plaguing the American culture for the last two decades. Many factors contribute to this on going problem. The number of over weight Americans has substantially grown with two main contributors to this important problem among Americans. One main contributor to obesity is fast food restaurants and American's lust for fatty foods, and another is how people were raised. However, with many factors affecting obesity there are also many results that are severe and sometimes deadly.
First of all, fast food is a huge reason why Americans are so over weight. People eat out everyday, not necessarily the most healthy of foods, but hamburgers, french fries and other fried foods that contain high cholesterol and fat. Americans have sued one of the most famous fast food restaurants, McDonalds, for help contributing to obesity. A Big Mac, which is one of McDonalds signature burgers, contains about 500 calories in just this one sandwich. Along with fries and a coke, you'll have already half of your needed daily caloric intake in just one sitting. Not to mention, many people eat out at fast food restaurants more than once a day. Some people eat there for lunch and dinner. Plus some people eat at fast food restaurants three times daily. Its amazing how this fast food trends has conquered the United States. Many countries make fun of Americans for this reason. America is the fattest country in the world. The problem has gotten so huge that a movie, "Super Size Me," has been creating showcasing America's love for the hamburger. It portrays Americans gaining weight and shows people and their transformation from average weight to super heavy weight.
Another to blame for this epidemic is the parent. Some parents do not teach their children the correct eating habits. Many children can't wait to eat at McDonalds or Burger King to get a happy meal. Also, many
