Mark Twain's apposing slavery

Mark Twain's plot and events in "Pudd'nhead Wilson" was not successful enough to show that slavery was horrible. Instead of showing the tragedies of slavery, the book choose to make black slaves looked at as bad people. The black characters played a murderous, disrespectful, and deceiving role. How can you prove that slavery is not acceptable when you are saying black slaves are bad and can't be trusted?
Roxana, or "Roxy", is a black slave in Dawson's Landing. She is only 1/16 black but none the less she is a slave. The story tells us that Roxy is a mother of a son named Chambers. She switches Chambers with Percy Driscoll's son after realizing that her son could be sold down the river one day. Mark Twain has already shown that Roxy is deceiving. He also mentions that slaves had stole money from there master and Roxy would have too but she went to a religious conversion. Telling us that slaves are thieves and dishonest isn't really a good approach in proving slavery is unacceptable.
Chamber, Roxy's black son who plays as "Tom", grows up to be a sickly and spoiled brat. He is abusive and mean to the real Tom. Chamber makes Tom fight for him in school. When Tom refuses Chamber attacks him with a knife and nearly kills him. Chamber goes to Yale where he does poorly and gets kicked out. He goes to St. Louis where he gets into issues involving gambling. He gets into trouble with the judge because of his debts. To pay off his debts, Chambers goes makes rounds of robberies around town. When Roxy suggests that he sells her locally as a slave to get money, he lies to her saying she is going to a nearby farm and that he will buy her freedom back in a year. She is sold down the river to Arkansas by her own biological son. Roxy returns and makes Tom buy her freedom back. When Chamber enters the judge's house, he finds the judge asleep with his money...
