Ever since I was I little boy I can always remember my parents telling me it was improper to hit girls. I always agreed with what my parents told me and I still do, but why in today's society is it acceptable for the female gender to ridicule or even hurt the opposite sex. I feel like almost the tides have changed where there was once a time woman could not even vote now it seems woman has the potential of becoming business leaders but not by what they can do, but more by just being a woman.
             Everywhere you look in magazines, newspapers, and even greeting cards, you can see the ridicule of the male gender. Our society has an almost okay attitude on how its okay to make fun of men but it's never okay to make fun of females. For example, say in a greeting card there was a joke about men like, "why did god make men before woman, because you need to make a rough draft before you make the final copy." Most women would find that joke very funny, but what if the joke was on them? You would probably see live media coverage of protests on how women are treated unfairly and all that kind of nonsense. On the other hand, men would think of the remark as just a joke, but why is that. I think it has come to a point now where women have more control over society then men do. Women have tried so hard in our country's history to have the same equal rights that men do, that now it seems women have more rights then men do.
             Women have also conquered another part of our society and that is the work place. For example, say there were two people going out for the same job. They both had the same qualifications but one was female and one was a male. Chances are the female would get the job and not the male. That is how our society functions. I think that people who have a business want to be fair in our society so they would pick a woman over a man for a job any day just because of gender. This is totally unfair
