Missing out

             I believe that the students at Tuskegee University are missing out on a very healthy experience. I think that the university should have co-ed dorms for three very important reasons. Co-ed dorms, in my opinion, would improve social interactions between the male and female sex, constitute healthy study habits, and make campus securities job a little easier. I feel that we as students are being deprived of the "classic" college experience. As I look at other colleges and universities that my friends attend, I become jealous. It makes me only wonder how much easier college would be.
             Many people believe that your college years are your best years. Most marriages start as a healthy college relationship. For some people, talking to members of the opposite sex is hard. Many individuals become shy, nervous, or even scared when pursuing a young male or female. I feel that the more exposure an individual has to the opposite sex, the more comfortable they will feel around them. In my opinion co-ed dorms would give students the necessary exposure needed for the improvement of social interactions between males and females.
             Often in college some students might not be able to catch on to some materials as fast as others. Co-ed dorms would eliminate the hardship of walking across campus for help. In most dorms the lobbies are, at times, loud and congested. For some students, it is extremely hard to work in an area where there are a lot of distractions. The quietness of a dorm room is the type of environment necessary to accommodate the needs of some students.
             I feel that co-ed dorms would make securities job a little bit easier. I feel that securities job is not to pick up students caught in the dorms of the opposite sex. Security shouldn't have to waste their time on something as small as unauthorized visitation. Many students' personal items get stolen everyday. Security should spend their time keeping ...
