Religion

             Throughout history people have had different point of views of religion and its values and beliefs. In some cultures religion may have had bigger effects on their actions than other religions. One of the major controversies is does religious beliefs justify war and violence. But this all has to do with what view you're looking at and what you believe in, if anything at all. I do believe that religious beliefs and principles justify violence of war in certain circumstances.
             Some religions may be linked together possibly coming from common roots and their beliefs maybe very similar to each others such as Hinduism and Buddhism. Hinduism does not have a soul founder and no sacred text. It developed from many beliefs from various groups in India. In Hinduism violence and war is justified according to the Brahman, a warrior may fight in a righteous war. Violence is often justified when you or your family is being threatened or harmed by others. This was a major controversy to a Hindu warrior because he could only fight in a "righteous war". If an opportunity came to fight in a righteous war and you didn't, you would lose your reputation and incur your soul. If the reason for a war was right and you didn't fight you would be letting your people down and not protecting your people. If you killed, you would only kill the body not the soul of the person, but not their soul. He or she that you killed would reincarnate into another being and into a certain level in the caste system depending on their dharma.
             There are major connections between Hinduism and Buddhism one is that they both believe in karma. Buddhism was founded in the foothills of Himalayas, by a reformer by the name of Siddhartha Gautama, better known as Buddha. Buddhist also stressed nonviolence like Hinduism.
