Violence, next to sex, is a major issue that is exploited on TV all day everyday. Everyone has been exposed to violence in his or her life one way or another, such as a fight or a big argument. When it comes to shooting a person may have never witnessed someone getting shot except for watching it on television and hoping that is the only time they will ever have to experience such violence. For the younger generation, who may have never seen a fight in their life, they may get traumatized or influenced by what is being shown on television. Violence shown on TV affects youngsters of all ages. Today, children and teenagers are subjected to enormous amounts of violence on television and in the movies. Since young children cannot make a distinction between fantasy and reality, they are easily influenced by what they see in the media. Children are visual learners and they mock both the positive and negative behaviors they notice.
             In the movie "Home Alone," there is violent behavior. Violence used to resolve a conflict is apparent in the movie "Home Alone." Kevin, the main character, performs numerous acts of violence to defend his home and scare away the trespassers. These acts of violence appear to be very real and could potentially hurt someone. The movie, however, does not display the harmful effects violence can have on a person. Instead, violence seems to be depicted as something humorous and children have a reason to laugh at an individual who imposes pain onto another person. The movie was good overall but it could get a child into a lot of trouble and could his/herself let alone someone else.
             As a result of watching too much violence on the screen, children are being known to use physical or verbal abuse toward others on the playground or at school.
