Euthanasia

             Does a terminally ill patient have the right to decide whether it is their time to die or not? It is not logical to let someone who is going through extremely hard times and is tremendously depressed, due to their illness, determine when it is time for them to conclude their life. Some people have said that euthanasia, assisted-suicide, "answers the prayers of the dying," but this makes no sense, God should be the one who answers these prayers, not a doctor. Not only is this process illegal, in the eyes of many people it is also sinful.
             Numerous people suffer over a variety of illnesses all over the world; although, it is not the answer to heal their suffering by death. There are many factors when patients are in decisive process of euthanasia, not matter how severe the illness may be or who says they would be better of not alive, euthanasia is inhuman. It's not right to place God's decision in the hands of a doctor and a highly depressed individual. There are plenty of different ways to deal with these problems, especially with the new technology in the medicine world today.
             Religion takes the place of one of the biggest roles when dealing with euthanasia. God has given us the greatest gift of all, life, and he should be the one who decides when it is time for a person to die. Romans 14:18 of the Bible states, "If we live, we are responsible to the Lord and when we die we are responsible to the Lord. Both in life and death we belong to the Lord." Many religions, especially Christianity, highly disapprove of euthanasia; they see euthanasia the same way as they see abortion and capital punishment, all major sins and against what they believe in. Euthanasia is just another way of taking a humans life before God has decided it is time, and this is inhuman, and no one has that privilege.
