1)Why is the poem called "Anthem for Doomed Youth"
             The peom is telling us about soldiers dying in war and how there is a lack of after-life procedures for them. It is called the "Anthem for the Doomed Youth" because of the condition the youths were in during the war. The poem talks of death, which is normal in war. The poet is being sarcastic, therefore addressing this issue as an anthem. Referring dying in war to an " anthem" also brings out the poet's mockery towards those who say it is honourable to die in war. The poet suggest that youths as soldiers, go to the frontlines and "sing the anthem" expecting to die. "Doomed Youth" refers to the soldiers who died in the war, who had no choice in their own life and death. They are described with "Doomed" as there were "no prayers nor bells "to send them on their way when they die on the battle field. Instead the "monstrous anger of guns" continued and their death were made to seem unimportant. At the end of the poem, the poet wrote about the mere acknowledgment of their deaths as the "drawing-down of blinds" is a further evidence to how screwed the youths were during the war that they were referred to as "Doomed Youths"in the title of the poem.
             2) Comment on the choice of diction employed in the poem. How does it bring about the desired effect that the poet wishes to attain?
             The topic this poem is about is solemn and full of sorrow as it is about soldiers dying in war. The poet chose words carefully so that we, as readers would pay more attention to their meanings. The poet made the ending words of alternate lines rhyme at the first part of the poem while every other two lines rhyme towards the end of the poem. The first line of the poem ends with "die as cattle" , while the third lien ends with "rifles'rapid rattle".
