The Animal Farm is a novel literally written about a particular farm in which the animals start a rebellion against their farm owner. The book's author, George Orwell, however, wrote the novel as repetition and a demonstration for the development of the Russian Revolution. Though the reader might not be aware or familiar with the Russian Revolution, he or she can easily compare the novel with the even because of the similarities in both, the book's and the historical event's, regimes.
             The rise of Stalin in Russia was one of the most threatening periods for the United States. It foreshadowed the strengthening of the communist regime and the threat of the spread of communism. Even if an individual were to be unfamiliar of the development of the Revolution, he or she would most probably be familiar with the communist regime and the totalitarian control of the Republic of Russia.
             Orwell carefully described each character from his novel as a member of the revolutionary period of that time. He used Mr. Jones and the farm itself to display Russia; the hardworking and intelligent Snowball for Leon Trotsky; Napoleon for Stalin; Boxer for the hardworking class of the Republic; the pigs for high government officials; all other animals for the regular class of people; the pigs turnover to violent government and human traits adaptations for Stalin's totalitarian rule; and much more. He wrote the story not only to serve as a demonstration of tyranny but also as an illustration of a unified class of people against a common enemy and their separation after the defeat of the enemy.
             Since the story was written by an American writer in the United States of America, the novel mainly illustrated the bad sides of tyranny and the communist government.
