Looking back on my childhood a smile comes to my face. I have many memories that I know I will cherish forever. I remember the little innocent things, like getting into my moms make-up and destroying it in the process; the things that got me in trouble, like playing salon with my brother and putting more than just shampoo and conditioner in our hair; the things that made my parents laugh like walking around in my mom's high heels thinking I was a princess; and the fun goofy things like having a tea party and inviting my parents and all my Barbie's. Thinking of all these great times I had as a child makes me wish I could go back and spend some time in the moments I took for granted.
As a child I was the girly girl. I wouldn't play in the sandbox; I wasn't interested in how the worms felt in my hands, I hated getting dirty, and the boys drove me nuts! I was the little girl whose hair was always done with a dress and bow to match. If I came to pre-school with pants it was either because it was too cold for a dress or all of my dresses were dirty. My personality was very energetic; I was always loud and at times obnoxious. But never the less I was always polite and very outgoing.
I was the little girl who never wanted a good time to end. I remember one summer when I was about seven years old and I was playing out in front with the other neighborhood girls. We were playing hide-and-go-seek. Around dusk I heard my dad call my name and telling me it was time to come in. As I approached him I asked in a whiney tone, "Why do I need to come in? The other kids are still playing hide-and -go-seek." I was surprised at the response my dad gave me when he said, " It's getting late."
