the three definitions we can see how Graphic Novels are a deconstruction of the standard view of the Novel. The Graphic Novel uses pictures and imagery to indicate a meaning, sometimes a symbolic meaning, to the viewer/reader, and it is in this way the narrative of the novel is moved along. Novels themselves use words, in a narrative, to paint a picture of what is transpiring at that particular point of the story. When a character is having a psychological moment the narrative describes what is going on in the character's mind and how it relates to the mannerisms expressed by the character. This right here shows a deconstruction of the novel because the use of images themselves express what the novel does in words, and this helps build the non-coherent meaning of the novel.
