After a long day of school or work, it is not uncommon for the average young adult to sit down in front of the television to relax. As the teen sits on the big comfortable recliner with their feet propped up, they often tend to channel surf. While flipping through popular channels the choices are numerous, yet many of these shows have the same content. MTV usually has The Real World or Road Rules on air; these sex crazed TV hits are a group of attractive college students competing for attention and romance. Other times you'll find shows like Room Raiders in which a male/female get to look through three bedrooms of the opposite gender and pick one person to date based on what they find. They are given a spy kit with gloves, tongs, a black light, and many other utensils to try to discover the kinkiest, dirtiest sexual objects possible. The Game Show Network has shows like Blind Date or The Third Wheel in which complete strangers go out together and almost always end up kissing the first time they meet, sometimes advancing even further. There are endless soap operas and sitcoms based completely around sex: Sex in the City, The Man Show, Days of our Lives...... The list goes on and on. All of these shows continue to be popular because every episode goes one step further and more daring to keep the audience interested. Today it is almost impossible to find a sitcom that is not based on sexual promiscuity because they either get canceled or jump on the bandwagon and turn into what they once were trying to avoid. Gilmore girls is one of the rare television shows that is still on air, gets good ratings, and hasn't ran with the sexual herd.
