Explication of Oh, my love is like a red, red rose

             Oh, my love is like a red, red rose. thats newly sprung in june. my love is like a melody thats sweetly played in tune. So far art thou, my bonny lass, so deep in love am I. And I will love thee still, my dear until the sea gangs dry. Till a seas gang dry my dear and the rocks melt with the sun, and i will love thee still my dear while the sands o life shall run. And Fare thee weel my only love, and far thee weel a while, and i will come again my love tho it were ten thousand miles.=
             The poem also has an example of alliteration, the repetition of consonant sounds. This would be red red rose. The consectutive R's that give it a certain tone. The whole poems tone comes together and makes it a harmnoy. The sound effect is considered a euphony. It call cames together nicly and has a good tone thoughout the whole thing. The ryhme sceem of the poem was abcb efgf hihi jkjk. The poem had 16 lines. The rythm of the poem is that lines a and c have 8 beats followed b and b with 5. Lines E,G, H, I have 7 beats while F, I, and K have 6 beats.
             The tone of this poem is up lifting and postitive in the light of love. Although they are seperated it still shows how strong his love is for her and nothing would be able to keep them apart. Its a loving and peacefull tone. The poem opens up with a similie saying that his love is like a red red rose. Then it is followed by another similie saying my love is like a melody. Also these two lines are also examples of figurative speech and symbolism. They do not represent exactly what they are but actually stand for somthing else, another meaning. The rose, the melody, the drying seas, the melting rocks and sands are all also symbolic. The symbolize the deepness of his love. They are also all concrete images, things you are able to see and actually understand, but express and abstract idea. The whole poem is an allegory, it express visual and seen things to make an abstract point.
