Comparison

             Many writers have traits in common. Emily Dickinson and Langston Hughes has two totally different back grounds but still have similarities in their poetry. Langston Hughes poetry had culture in it.
             In Emily Dickinson poetry Success is Counted Sweetest written in 1859 is about success. How success is appreciated more by those who rarely experience it. Also, to experience it requires everything within you because success is a drink of the Gods. The victor hears success loud and strong.
             Another poem by Emily Dickinson is The Only News I Know written in 1864 is a little shorter than the other is. This poem is about how everything could be heard by her but nothing sparks her attention. The only important thing in her life is herself.
             The four other poems I read was by Langston Hughes. The first one is titled I To. This poem was written in 1925.It is about how proud he is of being a black male in America during this hard time. In addition, how better he turned out than the white people that tried to hold him down.
             Genius Child by Langston Hughes was written in 1947. This is about how a child so smart is so hard to love. He makes the child equal to a monster; sense the child has so much knowledge they were hard to care for.
             Langston Hughes also wrote Park Bench in 1938, this is about a homeless person comparing himself to a rich person. The the poem is told lets you know he is homeless. "I live on a park bench, You, live on park Ave."
             In 1965 he wrote the poem Dinner Guest: Me. This is about a black man eating a elaborate dinner with white people and how they keep questioning him.
