School. Luther was so intelligent that he skipped the ninth and twelfth grade. At the age of fifteen, King entered the Morehouse College. In 1948, he graduated from Morehouse with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Sociology. Then, King enrolled in Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania. He was elected president and was valedictorian of the senior class. He was awarded the Pearl Plafker Award for most outstanding student and he received the J. Lewis Crozer fellowship for graduate study at the university of his choice. In 1951, Reverend King began doctoral studies in Systematic Theology at Boston University and studied at Harvard University. Dr. King was awarded many honorary degrees from numerous colleges and universities in the United States and several foreign countries. Dr. King married Coretta Scott on June 18, 1953 and later had four children.
             Martin Luther King, Jr. also led many movements and marches against racism in the United States. His lectures and remarks stirred the concern and sparked the conscience of many people in the country. Dr. King's concept of "somebodiness" gave the black people a new sense of worth and dignity.
