             There are many reasons that people in society today turn their heads the other way when they see someone that is being abused. One of the main things that people will say is that they do not want to get involved because it is none of their business. The person that is suffering the abuse will get so used to it happening that they end up believing that it is their fault that they are being treated so horribly. Ther are different factors that determine why a person who is being abused will stay with their abuser. Some of these factors can include the way they were raised or the environment in which they were brought up, the people that they grew up with in their family, and how those people treted others.
             The environment is a key factor in determining how a person grows up and how they think of others around them. If there is a lot of yelling and screaming, then they will grow up thinking that is how a relationship is supposed to be. Another environmental factor can be one in which there is no love shown toward a person, so they will try to find someone who will pay them a little attention and will take up with them.
             As the person grows up, they will look for like qualities in someone of the opposite sex that they are used to seeing at home. They feel safe with someone like that, because that is how they were raised. That is the only thing that they know. After a while they find that they are in an abusive situation, and there is no way out as far as they can see. The abused person will not leave an abuser because they are always trying to rationlize the fact that they can get the abuser to change. Some of the different kinds of abuse that they may be going through could be mental and physical.
