In the article entitled, "Cupid's Story", written by Jessica Schiaretti, found in the February 2005 issue of Kala: A student Publication of Honolulu Community College, Jessica Schiaretti discusses Cupid's life and Psyche's love for Cupid. Aphrodite gave Psyche a series of life destroying tasks that she must complete in order to see Cupid again because she was jealous of Psyche's beauty. She was so in love with Cupid and would do anything to have Cupid love her again, she set her mind in completing these tasks so she could see Cupid again.
             After surviving a number of tasks, she was given the most dangerous tasks of all. Since her mind was set on having Cupid's love, she went through this task. She had to go to the underworld with a little box and steal from Proserpine, Pluto's wife, her beauty and put it in the box. She wasn't suppose to open the box. Cupid found Psyche lifeless on the ground after opening the box. He was in pain to see his love hurt.
             In my opinion, love can make you do crazy things. Psyche completed a lot of deadly tasks just so she could see Cupid again. She would die to see him and have his love again. She even went through the hardest task and risk her life to be with him. I know that if you was to
             die for someone you love, that is really truly love. I would do what psyche did just to be with my love. I would die for my love.
             Your love for someone can make others do crazy things. Cupid's mother, Aphrodite, was so jealous of Psyche's beauty, she ordered Cupid to punish her, but instead of killing her Cupid fell in love with her. I know that back then things were different than the present, but love will always be the same. If two people love each other then nothing or no one should stand in the way of their love because things can get crazy.
