Transition

             When I was younger, I lived in a small town, which was ' 'big city life'' compared to where I am living now. After I married, I moved to the country. Having lived in both the city and the country, I know the differences between the two.
             Whenever I was living in the city, I had nothing pressing to do. I would wake up out of bed, get into the shower, brush my teeth, and eat breakfast. Then I would go into my room to feed my fish, cats, and dogs. My mother would occasionally ask me to do a few things such as clean my room, do the dishes, take out the trash, and maybe vacuum the living room. Still it was nothing I couldn't do in an hour.
             City life always meant that there was always something fun to do. My friends would call around eleven o'clock in the morning. I would usually have an idea for what our group could do for that night. First, we would go see the seven o'clock movie. Afterwards, we would go skating at the local rink and hang out there talking to the cute manager. Finally, the group and I would end the day by driving around town. We would hit all the "hot" spots. Driving through town always took for ever, too. This is because it seemed like everyone and their grandmothers were out driving around. The traffic was unbearable, but we didn't mind too much. There were always teenagers competing for who had the loudest music, the biggest trucks, and the noisiest vehicles. It was a teenagers dream.
             My life changed when I got married and moved to the country. I felt as if I was from another planet. I mean people got up out of bed at five o'clock in the morning. What in the world could a person be doing at that time of day? So I decided that I would get up out of bed just to see what all the hoot and holler was all about.
