Women in Combat

            Mothers, daughters, and wives dieing. Is that something you want to be hearing on the news? I didn't think so, this is what would be heard time and time again if we the United States let women go into combat situations. Women shouldn't be put into combat units or combat situations directly because of numerous reasons. Some reasons are Readiness, Cohesion, Sociably correct, Physocological, and Physical Capabilities.
            
             Readiness, something women aren't known for. Women are usually never ready on time, it's a know fact. But in war you must always be ready, prepared for the unexpected. But with women pregnancy can alter readiness of the women being able to deploy. A soldier can be on call at all time, and if the soldier is pregnant or in many other cases incabable, they are putting there unit at a dissadvantage.Also the women even after birth is at a disadvantage, she has probally gained weight and lost muscle. I doubt she was also working out while in pregnacy. So she isn't at a physical readiness. Without the soldier being there, the unit could be incapable. She could be the commanding officer of the highest rank in the unit, and without her being there that leaves leadership gone.
            
             Cohesion, something that needs to be among troops if they are to even survive let alone be effective. If the cohesion among the troops is impared it spells disaster. Time and time again a divions of a unit happens because of gender. It divides the ranks and genders amongst the unit. Which is a direct negative effect, this can be caused by double standards. Which is where someone could get special treatment just becuase of gender. Or another problem could be relationship amongst soldiers. Relationships can ruin a units cohesion, special treatment and double standards will occur if relationships happen. Double standards are where someone gets special treatment, for being who they are or what they are.The soldiers job is to protect the country of United States...
