Summer In Newfoundland

It all began with a trip that my grandmother and I made to visit my Aunt Ada and my Uncle Fonz. We had finally made it to the docks of St. John. I finally felt freedom from the nauseating feeling from the ship rocking back and forth. Driving off the ship, there was an overwhelming aroma of salty water and stinky fish that came from the Atlantic Ocean. It seemed to be very chaotic with all the busyness of vehicles ready to leave the ship. When looking towards the ocean waters all you could see where waves that moved at a continuous rate. The bull horns where extremely loud and annoying from all the other ships around.
Once we began our drive from St. John's to Codroy, the smell of the crisp air and how it brought your soul to chills was just wonderful. While looking out the van window all I saw was rolling Forest Mountains with different types of spruce and fur trees. The color was just wondrous. The beautiful green, red, and orange leaves reminded me of home in the fall. For a while I got home sick and missed my father but that all changed once we pulled up at my Aunt Ada's and Uncle Fonz's house.
As soon as we got out of the van, I meet, for the first time, Uncle Fonz and Aunt Ada. My uncle Fonz came straight to me and said," You must be my beautiful niece that I have been waiting for." Of course, I told him yes. Every child likes to hear things like that. He told me to come with him that he had a surprise for me in the barn. As I entered the barn, I saw the most beautiful thing in my whole life. It was a brown and black stallion. The feel of the coat was so soft and reminded me of a silk shirt I once had. As I slid my hands across the horse's body, he turned his head towards me and made a unique noise that horses make and I smiled with such glee. My uncle said," Baby, he is yours and every time you come up here he will be here waiting on you."
