Due to the problem of scarce resources and the scientific revolution in the fields of Chemistry and Physics, plastics were developed in the year 1860. Providing an appropriate substitute, with certain additional properties, for various natural resources, plastics have certain advantages and disadvantages, as we will see in the following exposé.

This has proved to be very convenient not only in the industries but also in our every day life. It lightens the weight of certain products and therefore facilitates their transportation. Moreover, plastics, being cheap materials, are easily accessible. Fore mostly used in the industrial sectors, plastic components are widely utilized as raw materials since the natural resources such as metal or glass are more expensive. Besides, another advantage plastics have is that they are recyclable. For businesses, this is very economical, as it would save the firm from spending more on the acquisition of new materials.
             In addition, plastics can be molded into any desired shape making certain plastic materials easy to handle and very practical.
