Does oneself believe every citizen has the rights to play the role of God? Should the courts decision between life and death be based on here-say? Unfortunately in one woman's case her husband was able to play the role of God. This woman was Terri Schiavo and her husband's name was Michael. They had been married for twenty years but Terri has been in this vegetarian state for at least thirteen years. Most citizens would say that Michael should not be able to call the shoots on whether or not Terri should be able to stay alive because she never wrote a living will, then there were her parents who begged Michael to give them full custody and they would take care of her and plus there was never any proof of what Michael claimed was told to him by Terri.
Suffering through the many complications Terri dealt with starting in the year 1990 with cardiac arrest she never once wrote a living will nor spoke of one to her family. Just three years later in 1993 Michael refused to allow treatment of a infection Terri had developed, while later admitting under oath that he expected the infection to progress to a fatal sepsis that would later kill Terri. Just two years later in 1995, contrary to his promises to the jury that he would honor his marriage vows, Michael, who still pretends to be Terri's "Loving" and "Grieving" husband, began living with another women, by whom he conceived two children with. Then in 1998 after Terri staying in a comma her husband filed for a petition to have her feeding tube removed. As time goes on Terri stays in a comma like state.
