Impulse buying

Hope that you and your family are all well. As a good friend I felt obliged to let you know a few things about impulse buying, so temptation does not get the better of you.
If you have noticed, many retailers use smart tactics to encourage impulse buying. Firstly retailers are likely to have end of season sales "everything must go". The word sale is usually imprinted all over the shop causing a visual stimulation to the customers. This may lead to the buying of unnecessary products.
Another method commonly used by retailers is the placing of candy bars near the checkout counters causing a last second impulse by mothers to quieten young children. Some retailers even entice displays for new products, pairing two products such as chips and soda on the same aisle.
This behavior, may lead to compulsive behavior and a serious addiction. A person might land themselves into financial trouble or overspending, so be careful.
However, impulse buying can be avoided. Ask yourself before a purchase, is the purchase going to serve you in some way? Are you buying it because it makes you feel better? Is the item serving as some type of reward? If the item is something you want rather than jumping to buy it, consider waiting until you are sure.
A simple shopping list would also serve as a good prevention towards impulse buying. Similar items should be compared i.e. Comparison shopping, which one is more worth while. This can stop overspending. One final way to prevent impulse buying is to set a low dollar limit so temptation can be eliminated.
Not many people can manage money effectively, but impulse buying can be avoided. So Bob, do not let temptation get the better of you.
